Job Requirements

  • One to three months related experience or training or equivalent education and experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
  • Ability to follow recipes and understand directions
  • Ability to identify fruits and vegetables and other food products
  • Must have record of successful employment, may be waived for immigrants
  • Ability to obtain food handler's permit within two weeks of employment
  • Influenza vaccination required with limited exceptions during flu season

Job Qualifications

  • Skill with knives is helpful

Job Duties

  • Prepares salads, cold plates, starch and vegetables daily
  • Assembles evening meal for Adult Living Program and serves as needed
  • Assists Lead Cook or Sous Chef with kitchen duties
  • Maintains clean and sanitized workstation
  • Sets up and cleans serving line for lunch and dinner
  • Stocks food deliveries
  • Serves dinner meal for ALP and cleans serving areas
  • Assists with serving in main kitchen
  • Performs cooking duties at different cook stations as required
  • Cleans kitchen area at the end of the day
