Job Requirements

  • one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
  • ability to follow recipes
  • ability to understand simple directions
  • ability to identify fruits and vegetables as well as other products used during the day
  • must have record of successful employment (may be waived for immigrants)
  • ability to obtain food handler's permit within two weeks of employment
  • influenza vaccination required with certain limited exceptions during flu season

Job Qualifications

  • record of successful employment (may be waived for immigrants)

  • skill with knives is helpful

Job Duties

  • prepares salads, cold plates, starch and vegetables for the day
  • assembles the evening meal for Adult Living Program and serve
  • assists lead cook or sous chef as needed and assigned
  • follows health department regulations
  • maintains kosher and kosher-style integrity
  • may assist at different cook stations and perform cooking duties as needed
  • maintains a clean and sanitized workstation
  • helps set up and clean serving lines for lunch and dinner
  • helps stock food deliveries
  • serves dinner meal for Adult Living Program and cleans up serving areas
  • assists with serving in the main kitchen
  • cleans area at the end of the day
