Job Duties
- Greets, registers, and assigns rooms to guests
- issues room keys and escort instructions to bell personnel or guests without announcing room numbers
- date-stamps, sorts, and racks incoming mail and messages
- transmits and receives messages using telephone, fax, and switchboard
- answers inquiries related to hotel services, registration, shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions
- keeps records of room availability and guests' accounts
- computes bills, collects payments, and makes change for guests
- makes, confirms, and cancels reservations
- posts charges for room, food, liquor, or telephone
- makes restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservations
- deposits guests' valuables in hotel safe
- orders complimentary flowers or champagne for special guests as directed
- enforces hotel company credit policies
- accounts for all cash and makes deposits according to company policies
- communicates effectively with front office and hotel departments
- reports to work on time and in uniform
- complies with company policies
- greets guests warmly
