Job Requirements

  • Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position
  • food service and/or hospitality experience preferred
  • able to frequently lift/carry 30 lbs and occasionally lift/carry 50 lbs
  • able to frequently push/pull up to 30 lbs and occasionally push/pull up to 50 lbs
  • able to stand and walk frequently
  • able to perform bending, twisting, stooping
  • able to reach at or below the shoulder level
  • able to communicate clearly and effectively
  • ability to work tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public

  • effective communication skills with supervisors, team members, residents, and families
  • able to work with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset individuals
  • familiarity with sanitary regulations and food safety standards

Job Duties

  • Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
  • serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures
  • distribute and collect menus as necessary
  • take meal orders, serve food and beverages, and answer questions regarding the menu
  • follow sanitary regulations at all times
  • provide Platinum Service with each dining experience
  • set up meal trays, food carts, and dining room with utensils, salt and pepper, napkins, and clean common areas prior and after meals are served
  • assist in checking resident trays before distribution
  • pour hot and cold beverages for residents and assist with opening containers and condiments as needed
  • prepare and deliver snacks to special events and parties hosted at the community
  • bus tables during and after meals
  • provide support services to other dining rooms during events and activities as needed
  • clean dining room area according to cleaning schedules and assignments
  • perform other job-related duties as assigned
