Job Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in a hotel or related field preferred
  • valid driver’s license for the applicable state
  • flexible and long hours sometimes required
  • medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, or pull objects
  • ability to stand for entire shift
  • must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
  • must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
  • must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • maintain regular attendance in compliance with service standards
  • maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing proper uniform and nametag
  • comply with service standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations
  • maintain a warm and friendly demeanor
  • be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees
  • use proper two-way radio etiquette when communicating
  • practice safe work habits
  • handle lost and found items according to hotel standards
  • turn in all keys and assignment sheets at the end of shift
  • report maintenance issues to housekeeping supervisor or manager
  • be familiar with guestroom cleaning procedures to assist if needed
  • deliver clean linen to assigned sections if necessary
  • pick up dirty linen or trash as needed
  • collect and dispose of trash from service landings to outside dumpsters
  • vacuum guest corridors
  • keep hallways, public areas, and closets neat and organized
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation in public restrooms
  • follow schedule for project cleaning of public areas
  • maintain stairwells to hotel standards
  • keep ash urns clean and filled with sand
