Job Requirements
- Capable of performing the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations
- ability to understand and communicate written and verbal directions
- regular attendance reliability and punctuality is necessary
- ability to work nights and weekends upon request
- must be able to work overtime as needed
- may be responsible to work on an on-call basis
Job Qualifications
- Minimum one year of food preparation experience in a directly related field
- culinary background preferred
- proficiency in English verbal and written
- proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- active Serve Safe Certification or Food Handlers Certificate preferred
- outstanding customer service skills
- well organized with excellent attention to detail
- aptitude to work independently with excellent time management skills
Job Duties
- Prepare meals that follow the menus and recipes
- inspect special diet trays to assure correct diet
- serve food in accordance with portion control procedures
- prepare food for therapeutic diets
- prepare cold item foods, bakery, and salad items
- cook hot foods as directed by supervisor
- adhere to food service timelines
- prepare and serve substitute foods to residents who refuse daily menu options
- serve meals to residents and guests as needed
- assist in food preparation for special meals, parties, and events
- prepare food according to sanitary regulations and Food Serve Safe regulations
- ensure work areas are maintained clean and safe
- assist with food prep for the upcoming meal and day
- assist with inventory and replenishment process
- meet federal and state in-service requirements
