Job Requirements

  • Capable of performing the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations
  • ability to understand and communicate written and verbal directions
  • regular attendance reliability and punctuality is necessary
  • ability to work nights and weekends upon request
  • must be able to work overtime as needed
  • may be responsible to work on an on-call basis

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of food preparation experience in a directly related field
  • culinary background preferred
  • proficiency in English verbal and written
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • active Serve Safe Certification or Food Handlers Certificate preferred
  • outstanding customer service skills
  • well organized with excellent attention to detail
  • aptitude to work independently with excellent time management skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals that follow the menus and recipes
  • inspect special diet trays to assure correct diet
  • serve food in accordance with portion control procedures
  • prepare food for therapeutic diets
  • prepare cold item foods, bakery, and salad items
  • cook hot foods as directed by supervisor
  • adhere to food service timelines
  • prepare and serve substitute foods to residents who refuse daily menu options
  • serve meals to residents and guests as needed
  • assist in food preparation for special meals, parties, and events
  • prepare food according to sanitary regulations and Food Serve Safe regulations
  • ensure work areas are maintained clean and safe
  • assist with food prep for the upcoming meal and day
  • assist with inventory and replenishment process
  • meet federal and state in-service requirements
