Job Requirements
- No formal education required
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and maintain static positions
- Good communication skills in English
- Ability to work tactfully and respectfully with diverse populations
- Must follow safety and infection control standards
- No licensing or certifications required

Job Duties
- Perform daily housekeeping functions and tasks as assigned and follow established safety precautions and infection control procedures
- Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical
- Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas
- Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner
- Dispose of personal protective equipment in accordance with established sanitation procedures
- Ensure that an adequate supply of housekeeping supplies to perform daily tasks is maintained in utility/janitorial closets
- Assist others in lifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc., as directed or requested
- Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc., daily
- Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures and remove water marks
- Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways
- Clean floors including sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, disinfecting, and vacuuming carpets
- Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing
- Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc., from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions
- Clean hallways, stairways, elevators, and vacant rooms
- Ensure that work/assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc., are properly stored at all times, including before breaks, meal times, and end of day
