Job Requirements
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions
- ability to follow directions and work assignments
- ability to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds
- availability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, some weekends and holidays
- must be patient and tolerant toward staff, patients, and family members
Job Qualifications
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- high school graduate or equivalent education preferred
- minimum one year housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- general knowledge of cleaning and infection prevention
- verbal and writing abilities to communicate effectively with staff, patients, family members, and the public
- motor coordination and manual dexterity to operate housekeeping equipment
- willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions
- ability to follow directions and work assignments
- patience and tolerance toward staff, patients, and family members
Job Duties
- Provides daily housekeeping duties as assigned per Standard Operating Procedures
- closely follows daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules
- cleans floors including dust mop, wet mop, sweeping, and vacuuming
- cleans furnishings and fixtures including restrooms, light fixtures, water fountains
- dusts and disinfects horizontal surfaces throughout the facility
- removes trash and disinfects waste containers
- cleans and disinfects restrooms in resident rooms and public spaces
- cleans public spaces including corridors, stairwells, elevators, waiting rooms, lobby
- cleans equipment and work areas as assigned by manager
- follows facility rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- attends educational programs
- follows safety codes
- understands fire and disaster plans
- performs other department duties assigned
