Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation

  • Experience in identifying and selling products based on customer needs
  • Experience in using cash registers for sales transactions
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience working in any Lowe's retail department preferred
  • Ability to detect common signs of shoplifting preferred

Job Duties

  • Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • Proactively greet, assist, and engage with customers
  • Recommend products and services appropriately to customers
  • Ensure accurate completion of transactions by managing product movement
  • Thank customers and invite them to return
  • Provide SMART customer service according to company policies
  • Assist customers in locating and selecting merchandise
  • Respond to customer and employee questions knowledgeably and promptly
  • Coach, develop, and train front-end associates
  • Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using cash registers
  • Provide monetary change to front-end associates
  • Supervise and support front-end team
  • Remove security tags, verify product information, and bag merchandise
  • Answer phone calls and direct or take messages
  • Open additional registers when necessary
  • Assist in line management to expedite checkout
  • Prepare register area and verify equipment functionality
  • Inspect returned merchandise for damages
  • Enter and submit customer orders and verify receipts
  • Review and place online orders and returned merchandise
  • Verify price match by looking up product information and competitor prices
  • Record items used in the store
  • Monitor cash drawer limits and obtain safety bags
  • Monitor store entrances and exits for security
  • Detect signs of shoplifting and report to management
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of store areas
  • Conduct safety reviews and ensure safe work environment
  • Operate store equipment as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
