Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier

  • 1 to 2 years experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
  • Less than 1 year of retail experience detecting signs of shoplifting

Job Duties

  • Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • Approaches and interacts with customers to proactively recommend products and services
  • Proactively greet, assist, and engage with multiple customers on multiple registers at the same time
  • Move throughout the checkout area standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving products to ensure accurate transaction completion
  • Thank customers for their business and invite them back
  • Provide SMART customer service following Lowe's policies, procedures, and programs
  • Seek out customers to understand needs and assist in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
  • Listen and respond knowledgeably to customer and employee questions, assisting in project walkthroughs
  • Demonstrate sincere appreciation to customers
  • Communicate information regarding stock, special orders, product features, and warranty programs
  • Coach and train associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities
  • Use cash register to process sales, returns, and refunds according to guidelines
  • Provide monetary change to Customer Service Associates for register activities
  • Supervise and coach Front End associates
  • Remove security tags, verify product information, and bag merchandise
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls
  • Open additional registers to ensure coverage
  • Assist in line vesting for quicker checkout
  • Prepare register area by checking register and scanner functionality and stocking supplies
  • Inspect returned merchandise for damages
  • Enter and process customer orders and verify receipts
  • Review and place online orders and returned merchandise properly
  • Verify product info and competitor prices for price matching
  • Record store-used items accurately
  • Manage cash bags and monitor cash drawer limits
  • Monitor store entrances, detect signs of shoplifting and theft, and communicate risks to management
  • Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure cleanliness and organization
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to safety requirements
  • Operate store equipment as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
