  • 1 to 2 years experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans and explaining warranties
  • 1 to 2 years experience as a head cashier preferred
  • 1 to 2 years experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store preferred
  • 1 to 2 years supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training and coaching employees preferred
  • less than a year retail experience detecting signs of shoplifting preferred

Job Duties

  • monitors and identifies customers who need assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • approaches and interacts with customers to proactively recommend products and services appropriately
  • greets, assists, and engages with multiple customers on multiple registers at the same time
  • moves throughout the checkout area standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving product to ensure accurate completion of transactions
  • thanks the customer for their business and invites them back to shop at Lowe's
  • provides smart customer service following Lowe's policies, procedures and programs
  • seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying and/or loading merchandise
  • listens to and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions
  • demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers
  • communicates information to customers regarding stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information
  • coaches, develops, provides feedback and trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities
  • uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds
  • provides proper monetary change to front-end associates for register activities
  • supervises, coaches and supports front-end team associates
  • removes security tags, verifies product information and bags merchandise for customers
  • answers incoming phone calls and directs or takes messages
  • opens additional registers as necessary to ensure adequate coverage
  • assists in line vesting to expedite checkout process
  • prepares register area at start and end of shift ensuring functionality and stocking supplies
  • inspects returned merchandise for damage
  • enters and submits customer orders, prints order tickets, verifies receipts and signs off on loading tickets
  • reviews and places online orders and returned merchandise appropriately
  • looks up product information and competitor prices to verify price match
  • records items used in store on store use lists
  • obtains safety bags from cash office and monitors cash to comply with requirements
  • monitors merchandise entering and leaving store entrances, assists with alarm triggers
  • detects signs of shoplifting and other security risks and reports promptly
  • ensures compliance with housekeeping standards for cleanliness and organization
  • maintains a safe and secure work environment, conducts safety reviews, notes hazards, and secures premises
  • adheres to safety requirements including top stock safety and use of safety devices
  • operates store equipment including phones, paging systems, copiers, fax machines, computers, CCTV, key cutter, panel saw, paint mixer, flooring cutters, and baler
  • performs additional duties as assigned
