Job Requirements
- Less than 1 year experience using a computer including inputting and accessing information
- Less than 1 year experience using retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
- 1 to 2 years retail cashier experience
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation
- Must be able to stand and move throughout checkout area for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 to 2 years retail cashier experience
- 1 to 2 years supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Experience with retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
- Customer service skills including product recommendation and sales
- Ability to train and coach team members
- Knowledge of store safety and security protocols
- Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Demonstrates ability to monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
- Approaches and interacts with customers to proactively recommend products and services
- Greets, assists, and engages multiple customers during transactions
- Moves throughout checkout area lifting and moving products to ensure transaction accuracy
- Thanks customers and invites them to return
- Provides SMART customer service adhering to Lowe's policies
- Locates, demonstrates, and assists customers with merchandise
- Answers customer and employee questions and guides them through projects
- Trains and coaches associates in departmental duties
- Processes sales transactions using cash registers including returns and refunds
- Provides change to front end associates
- Supervises and supports front end team
- Removes security tags and bags merchandise
- Handles incoming phone calls
- Opens additional registers when needed
- Assists in line vesting to speed checkout
- Prepares registers and scanner at shift start and end
- Inspects returned merchandise for damage
- Processes customer orders and maintains order tickets
- Verifies product information and prices
- Records store use items
- Monitors cash in drawers and obtains safety bags
- Watches store entrances to detect and report suspicious activity
- Maintains cleanliness and organization
- Conducts safety reviews and adheres to safety protocols
- Operates store equipment such as phones, paging systems, and CCTV
- Performs additional assigned duties
