Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • Less than 1 year experience using common retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Must be able to lift items up to 15 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of retail cashier experience preferred
  • Ability to identify and sell products based on customer needs
  • Experience in credit card transactions, installations, add-on sales, and protection plans preferred
  • Experience as a head cashier or supervisory role preferred
  • Knowledge of shoplifting detection and loss prevention techniques preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to coach, train, and develop associates
  • Comfortable using retail technologies such as cash registers and smart devices
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment

Job Duties

  • Monitor and identify customers needing assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • Approach and engage customers to proactively recommend products and services
  • Greet and assist multiple customers on registers concurrently
  • Ensure accurate transaction completion by moving and lifting products as needed
  • Thank customers and invite them to return
  • Provide consistent SMART customer service following Lowe's policies
  • Assist customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, or loading merchandise
  • Respond promptly and knowledgeably to customer and employee questions
  • Show sincere appreciation towards customers
  • Communicate stock, special orders, and warranty information clearly
  • Coach, develop, and train associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities
  • Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using a cash register
  • Manage monetary change for front end associates
  • Supervise and support CSA Front End Team
  • Remove security tags and bag merchandise
  • Handle incoming phone calls and direct or take messages
  • Open additional registers to maintain checkout coverage
  • Assist in reducing checkout line wait times
  • Prepare register area by checking functionality and stocking supplies
  • Inspect returned merchandise for damage
  • Manage customer order entry and verify receipts
  • Organize online orders and returned items
  • Research product information and verify price matches
  • Maintain store use lists for items used
  • Monitor cash amounts and store entrances for security
  • Detect and report signs of shoplifting or security risks
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization through housekeeping standards
  • Ensure a safe work environment by conducting safety reviews and hazard checks
  • Operate essential store equipment as required
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed
