Job Requirements

  • In-service training as required

  • Demonstrate flexibility in changes to assignments, tasks, procedures and regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • In-service training as required

  • Demonstrate flexibility in changes to assignments, tasks, procedures and regulations
  • Connecticut State approved certification in sanitation preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety preferred
  • Knowledge of methods of food preparation preferred
  • Knowledge of the operation and care of food service equipment preferred

Job Duties

  • Assist the cooks, site managers, site supervisor with the preparation and service of hot and cold meals
  • Attend meetings and trainings when scheduled
  • Assist with receiving, proper storage, rotation of inventory
  • Take and record temperature of food and notify person in charge if corrective actions are needed
  • Wash and sanitize pots, pans, and other items
  • Help complete and maintain all records, including but not limited to production records, meal count sheets, other associated logs
  • Adhere to sanitary and health standards as defined in the district HACCP plan and by local health department officials
  • Ability to run a point of sale register during meal periods to accurately account for all meals served
