Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- In-service training as required
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and adhere to district and department policies and procedures
- Demonstrate flexibility in changes to assignments, tasks, procedures and regulations

- Connecticut State approved certification in sanitation preferred
- Knowledge of food safety preferred
- Knowledge of methods of food preparation preferred
- Knowledge of the operation and care of food service equipment preferred
Job Duties
- Assist the cooks, site managers, site supervisor with the preparation and service of hot and cold meals
- Attend meetings and trainings when scheduled
- Assist with receiving, proper storage, rotation of inventory
- Take and record temperature of food and notify person in charge if corrective actions are needed
- Wash and sanitize pots, pans, and other items
- Help complete and maintain all records, including but not limited to production records, meal count sheets, other associated logs
- Adhere to sanitary and health standards as defined in the district HACCP plan and by local health department officials
- Ability to run a point of sale register during meal periods to accurately account for all meals served
