Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous custodial or maintenance experience desirable
- ability to pass pre-work physical examination
- valid motor vehicle operator's license or ability to provide own transportation
- willingness to follow safety procedures and wear appropriate safety gear
- ability to work outdoor and indoor environments
- ability to perform physical labor including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- availability for occasional travel between schools and central office
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in building cleaning and maintenance desirable
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- ability to establish cooperative working relationships
- basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to work in various weather conditions
- ability to work at heights using ladders and lifts
- ability to use hand and power tools safely
- able to pass pre-work physical examination
- valid motor vehicle operator's license or ability to provide own transportation
Job Duties
- Check and secure buildings at the beginning and end of shifts
- clean rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, stairways, and other areas according to standards
- sweep, mop, buff, strip, and wax floors
- clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and blinds
- wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, and sills
- remove graffiti and clean glass
- replace light bulbs
- set up and break down chairs, tables, and equipment in meeting rooms
- clear snow from entrances and walkways and apply sand and ice melting chemicals
- perform grounds-keeping duties by clearing debris and maintaining grounds
- receive deliveries and assist in unloading trucks and storing supplies
- deliver supplies and materials to various locations within the building
- empty wastebaskets, pick up and remove trash, and support recycling programs
- perform general cleaning and repair work during school vacations
- assist parents and visitors during special events and programs
- perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
