Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
- knowledge of safety and infection control standards
- ability to handle chemicals safely
- capability to follow detailed instructions
- physical ability to perform cleaning tasks
- willingness to work flexible hours
- adherence to hospital policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience in housekeeping or janitorial work preferred
- knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- understanding of proper use of personal protective equipment
- ability to follow safety and infection control procedures
- strong attention to detail
- good physical stamina and ability to perform manual tasks
- ability to work as part of a team
- effective communication skills
Job Duties
- Follows housekeeping policies and procedures for mixing of chemicals, use of PPE, and handling of infectious waste
- cleans patient rooms and all other hospital areas and departments in accordance with department procedures and quality standards
- attends all required in-services, including infection control, safety, and scheduled department staff meetings
- cleans and maintains all carpets and hard floor surfaces
- accepts and perform all job duties as assigned, facilitating changes in schedule when necessary
- demonstrates proper body mechanics when lifting or moving materials
- demonstrates proper handwashing and other infection control techniques
- identifies and properly disposes of regular, contaminated and recycle waste
- cleans and maintains all housekeeping equipment
