Job Requirements

  • Hold a valid CDL-A or CDL-B license with air brake and passenger endorsements
  • Be able to work Monday through Saturday with a five-day workweek including some split shifts
  • Meet LRTA-specific employment standards
  • Pass required background checks and drug screenings
  • Have reliable transportation to and from the workplace
  • Be available to attend training sessions and meetings as required

Job Qualifications

  • Valid CDL-A or CDL-B license with air brake and passenger endorsements
  • Previous bus driving or commercial driving experience preferred
  • Ability to work a five-day work week including split shifts
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Knowledge of local routes and transit procedures
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively

Job Duties

  • Operate buses safely and efficiently on fixed routes
  • Ensure passenger safety and comfort
  • Adhere to scheduled routes and time tables
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations
