Job Requirements

  • Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position
  • Food Service Manager Certification (Skilled Nursing Facilities)
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts or related field
  • Three or more years of culinary and food preparation experience in a related field
  • Three or more years of management experience in culinary or hospitality management
  • Capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility
  • Fluent in English, verbal and written
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, families, visitors, government personnel, and the public

Job Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts or related field
  • Food Service Manager Certification (Skilled Nursing Facilities)
  • Three or more years of culinary and food preparation experience
  • Three or more years of management experience in culinary or hospitality
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, residents, and families
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and presentation standards
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Job Duties

  • Develop, implement and evaluate the culinary operations departments' daily schedules and processes
  • Ensure all culinary personnel follow policy and procedures
  • Coordinate and provide hot and cold foods for community events
  • Create and execute corrective plans addressing survey inspection results
  • Maintain a reference library of menus, recipes, policies, procedures, operation standards, and diet manuals
  • Ensure food prepared meets presentation, quality, and safety standards
  • Comply with purchasing practices using approved vendors
  • Establish food service production workflows for timely meal preparation
  • Determine staffing requirements and assign personnel per shift
  • Manage applicant flow and conduct timely interviews
  • Coordinate and schedule training and orientation
  • Ensure staff meet federal, state, and company in-service requirements
  • Monitor employee performance and resolve issues with Executive Director
  • Maintain clean and sanitary dining service, storage, and preparation areas
  • Enforce safety protocols in handling equipment and hazardous materials
  • Recommend department equipment and supply needs
  • Place orders using approved vendors
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheets for hazardous chemicals and ensure proper labeling and storage
  • Manage inventory and replenishment of food items and equipment
  • Prepare and plan Dining Service budget for food, supplies, equipment, and labor
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
