Job Requirements

  • Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position
  • Food Service Manager Certification Skilled Nursing Facilities
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts or related field
  • Three or more years of culinary and food preparation experience in a related field
  • Three or more years of management experience in culinary cooking or hospitality management
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed
  • Able to frequently lift and carry up to 30 lbs and occasionally 50 lbs
  • Able to frequently push and pull up to 30 lbs and occasionally 50 lbs
  • Ability to perform bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, standing and walking frequently
  • Must be fluent in English verbally and in writing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to safely handle hazardous materials and comply with safety regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts or related field
  • Food Service Manager Certification for Skilled Nursing Facilities
  • Three or more years of culinary and food preparation experience in a related field
  • Three or more years of management experience in culinary cooking or hospitality management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Fluent in English, verbal and written
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions
  • Effective communication skills with various stakeholders

Job Duties

  • Develop, implement and evaluate culinary operations daily schedules and processes
  • Ensure all culinary personnel follow policy and procedures
  • Coordinate and provide hot and cold foods for community events
  • Create and execute corrective plans addressing survey inspection results
  • Maintain reference library of menus, recipes, policies, procedures, and current diet manuals
  • Ensure food meets presentation standards, quality guidelines and food safety
  • Comply with purchasing practices and use approved vendors
  • Establish food service production workflow for timely meal preparation
  • Determine staffing requirements and assign personnel per shift
  • Manage hiring process and applicant flow
  • Coordinate and conduct in-service training and orientation
  • Ensure staff participate in required training programs
  • Monitor employee performance and assist in resolution of performance issues
  • Maintain clean and sanitary dining, food storage and preparation areas
  • Enforce safety regulations and proper labeling and storage of hazardous chemicals
  • Recommend and order equipment and supplies
  • Maintain inventory and manage budget for food, equipment, supplies and labor
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
