Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Availability to work Thursday through Monday 10:30am-7:00pm including holidays, with Tuesday and Wednesday off
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
  • One year of cooking experience preferably in a long term care setting
  • Ability to operate industrial sized professional grade food service equipment preferred
  • Food Handler certificate preferred
  • Serve Safe certificate preferred
  • Must pass background check and drug screen
  • Must be authorized to work full-time in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one year of cooking experience, preferably in a long-term care setting
  • Experience operating industrial sized professional grade food service equipment preferred
  • Lead or supervisory experience preferred
  • Equivalent years of education may substitute for experience
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow recipes and prepare meals according to dietary requirements

Job Duties

  • Preparing, distributing and storing all foods according to department policies and procedures
  • Assisting with inventories, records and portion control
  • Preparing special function meals as needed
  • Controlling costs according to departmental standards
  • Working closely with supervisory personnel to operate the department efficiently
  • Maintaining standards of safety and sanitation of all equipment and work areas
  • Serving as backup for Team Lead when necessary
