Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years experience as a cook in a restaurant or senior living environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen sanitation
- Ability to stand for extensive periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong manual dexterity with kitchen tools and equipment
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Must comply with company attendance and punctuality standards
Job Qualifications
- 1-2 years experience in a similar culinary position
- Culinary training is a plus
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently
- Proven knowledge of kitchen safety and food handling standards
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and organize tasks efficiently
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Job Duties
- Prepare high-quality food from scratch including soups, stocks, sauces, main dishes, starches, and vegetables
- Execute the seven methods of cooking proficiently
- Follow all food safety protocols including HACCP and proper labeling and storage
- Maintain documentation of temperature charts and food records
- Collaborate effectively with front and back of house teams to meet quality and portion control standards
- Participate in planning, production meetings, and in-service training sessions
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Director of Dining Services
