Job Requirements
- Ability to stand and maneuver safely for eight-hour shifts
- ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs
- ability to see, hear, or effectively use prosthetics
- good manual dexterity to operate kitchen equipment
- free of communicable diseases
- willingness to adhere to safety and hygiene standards
- ability to handle moderate physical and emotional stress
- fluent in English
- meet company attendance and punctuality standards
- ability to follow directions and work with minimal supervision
Job Qualifications
- 1-2 years experience in a similar cook position
- culinary training is a plus
- knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP protocols
- ability to execute the seven methods of cooking
- strong knife skills with chef sign-off
- ability to read and follow recipes accurately
- effective communication skills
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- experience in senior living or healthcare food service is preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare soups, stocks, sauces, main dishes, starches, and vegetables
- follow all food safety and handling protocols
- maintain accurate temperature charts and food storage documentation
- collaborate with front and back of house teams to ensure quality and portion control
- participate in planning, production meetings, and training sessions
- adhere to opening, closing, and prep lists
- perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Director of Dining Services
