Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand and maneuver safely for eight-hour shifts
  • ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs
  • ability to see, hear, or effectively use prosthetics
  • good manual dexterity to operate kitchen equipment
  • free of communicable diseases
  • willingness to adhere to safety and hygiene standards
  • ability to handle moderate physical and emotional stress
  • fluent in English
  • meet company attendance and punctuality standards
  • ability to follow directions and work with minimal supervision

Job Qualifications

  • 1-2 years experience in a similar cook position
  • culinary training is a plus
  • knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP protocols
  • ability to execute the seven methods of cooking
  • strong knife skills with chef sign-off
  • ability to read and follow recipes accurately
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • experience in senior living or healthcare food service is preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare soups, stocks, sauces, main dishes, starches, and vegetables
  • follow all food safety and handling protocols
  • maintain accurate temperature charts and food storage documentation
  • collaborate with front and back of house teams to ensure quality and portion control
  • participate in planning, production meetings, and training sessions
  • adhere to opening, closing, and prep lists
  • perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Director of Dining Services
