Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or educational equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year experience in food preparation and cooking including grilling, sautéing, broiling, frying, baking
  • Food Handlers Certificate from the County Department of Environmental Health
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations
  • Effective communicator in verbal and written English
  • Ability to read and follow menus and recipes including substitutions
  • Willingness to work with individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia
  • Active role involving walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Reliable transportation to meet attendance and punctuality standards
  • Comfortable working around animals and pets

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve meals for residents in accordance with dietary needs
  • Ensure accuracy, quality, presentation, and timeliness of food items
  • Modify meals as directed to meet individual nutritional requirements
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the culinary team
