Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior cooking experience preferred but not required
- ability to follow state and federal food preparation guidelines
- strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- physical ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- willingness to work scheduled shifts including weekends and alternating schedules
Job Qualifications
- Enjoys and takes pride in cooking
- previous job experience and scratch cooking experience preferred but not required
- excellent time management skills
- ability to work deadlines
- maintains a courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude with residents, visitors, and co-workers
- able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs
Job Duties
- Prepares food in accordance with state and federal guidelines and established policies and procedures
- ensures that special diets are followed and that food is prepared in a timely manner
- works directly with the Executive Chef, Director of Dining Services, and the Dietitian to plan and prepare meals
- develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-department personnel as well as other departments to guarantee that food service can be properly maintained to meet the needs of residents
