Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior cooking experience preferred but not required
  • ability to follow state and federal food preparation guidelines
  • strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • physical ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • willingness to work scheduled shifts including weekends and alternating schedules

Job Qualifications

  • Enjoys and takes pride in cooking
  • previous job experience and scratch cooking experience preferred but not required
  • excellent time management skills
  • ability to work deadlines
  • maintains a courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude with residents, visitors, and co-workers
  • able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs

Job Duties

  • Prepares food in accordance with state and federal guidelines and established policies and procedures
  • ensures that special diets are followed and that food is prepared in a timely manner
  • works directly with the Executive Chef, Director of Dining Services, and the Dietitian to plan and prepare meals
  • develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-department personnel as well as other departments to guarantee that food service can be properly maintained to meet the needs of residents
