Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years of line cook experience or training
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Willingness to work full-time shifts (6am-2pm or 11am-7pm)
  • Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years of line cook experience or training
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Experience in hospitality or senior living food service preferred

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare food for residents, guests, and employees
  • Prepare food according to the planned menu using standard recipes
  • Plate food items following portion guidelines and garnishing instructions
  • Assist other kitchen staff as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Ensure sufficient food is prepped and/or prepared
  • Communicate with supervisor of shortages or outages
  • Ensure freshness, cooking status, and proper seasoning of all foods served
  • Stock and clean station for next shift
  • Follow proper food rotation policies
  • Maintain a positive attitude supporting a team environment
  • Promote positive public relations with residents, family members, and guests
  • Maintain awareness of resident rights ensuring privacy, dignity, and well-being
  • Maintain safety including universal precautions, fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, sanitation, and security
  • Clean and inspect kitchen appliances and work areas
  • Present a professional appearance by wearing uniform and name tag
