Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to follow food safety guidelines and procedures
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to work flexible hours including weekends
  • Must be able to maintain a courteous, friendly and helpful attitude
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Valid identification and authorization to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Enjoys and takes pride in cooking
  • Previous job experience and scratch cooking experience preferred but not required
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work deadlines
  • Able to maintain a courteous, friendly and helpful attitude with residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times
  • Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Prepares food in accordance with state and federal guidelines and established policies and procedures
  • Ensures that special diets are followed and that food is prepared in a timely manner
  • Works directly with the Executive Chef, Director of Dining Services, and the Dietitian to plan and prepare meals
  • Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-department personnel as well as other departments to guarantee that food service can be properly maintained to meet the needs of residents
