Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to follow food safety guidelines and procedures
- Strong communication skills
- Able to work flexible hours including weekends
- Must be able to maintain a courteous, friendly and helpful attitude
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Valid identification and authorization to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- Enjoys and takes pride in cooking
- Previous job experience and scratch cooking experience preferred but not required
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work deadlines
- Able to maintain a courteous, friendly and helpful attitude with residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Job Duties
- Prepares food in accordance with state and federal guidelines and established policies and procedures
- Ensures that special diets are followed and that food is prepared in a timely manner
- Works directly with the Executive Chef, Director of Dining Services, and the Dietitian to plan and prepare meals
- Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-department personnel as well as other departments to guarantee that food service can be properly maintained to meet the needs of residents
