Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Age over 18 years
- Background clearance as required by government regulations
- Retain a current food handlers permit
- Minimum of two years experience cooking
- Negative TB test results
- Excellent communication skills including ability to speak, write and read English
- Ability to operate computer and necessary software programs including word, email, excel
- Ability to be professional at all times with other team members, residents, family members, and visitors

Job Duties
- Arrive to work on time and prepared for shift
- Prepare all food items in accordance with planned menus and recipes ensuring meals are appetizing, nutritional, and meet special dietary requests
- Ensure all food is served at the correct temperature and charted as such
- Ensure proper plate presentation
- Consult with Director of Dining Services on menu changes or substitutions
- Ensure food storage areas are clean and organized at all times
- Prepare food in compliance with governmental, sanitary, and dietitian regulations and report infractions immediately
- Manage food orders upon arrival promptly
- Dispose of food and waste according to policies
- Store, label, and date leftovers properly
- Record temperatures of refrigerators, freezers, and dishwashers
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas
- Supervise servers and dishwashers
- Prepare upcoming menu items ensuring stock and pull as directed
- Manage safe storage and efficient use of kitchen inventory
- Promote a positive and friendly teamwork attitude
- Perform other duties as assigned by Dining Services leadership
