Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous cooking experience especially in senior living preferred
  • Knowledge of safe food handling procedures
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic kitchen equipment proficiency

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in senior living preferred
  • Experience with production methods, portion control and food handling safety required
  • Great organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail and food presentation
  • Ability to work weekends
  • Food safety certification is a plus

Job Duties

  • Prepare hot and cold menu items working on the grill, sauté station, salad bar and service line
  • Ensure proper preparation, portioning and serving of foods as indicated on the menu cycle and standardized recipes
  • Taste and prepare food to determine quality and palatability
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and work areas
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to meet resident dietary needs and preferences
  • Assist in inventory management and stock control
