Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cooking experience especially in senior living preferred
- Knowledge of safe food handling procedures
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Basic kitchen equipment proficiency
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in senior living preferred
- Experience with production methods, portion control and food handling safety required
- Great organizational skills
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail and food presentation
- Ability to work weekends
- Food safety certification is a plus
Job Duties
- Prepare hot and cold menu items working on the grill, sauté station, salad bar and service line
- Ensure proper preparation, portioning and serving of foods as indicated on the menu cycle and standardized recipes
- Taste and prepare food to determine quality and palatability
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and work areas
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to meet resident dietary needs and preferences
- Assist in inventory management and stock control
