Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years or older
- must be available all nights, holidays, and weekends
- must have high school diploma or equivalent
- must have Naperville and Illinois BASSET certification
- must have Illinois Food Handler Certification
- must have prior formal wine training
- must have 3 to 5 years of upscale dining experience
- must have previous experience with Micros Simphony POS
- must have strong leadership and communication skills
- must be able to multitask
- must be flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- must be able to walk and stand up to 8 hours a day
- must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch
- must be able to lift up to 30 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- previous training in liquor, wine, and food service
- Naperville and Illinois BASSET certification required
- Illinois Food Handler Certification required
- prior completion of a formal wine training program such as sommelier or WSET
- 3 to 5 years of upscale dining experience in similar restaurant or hotel environment
- strong understanding of luxury service standards
- previous experience with Micros Simphony POS
- strong leadership and communication skills with a guest-first mindset
- advanced wine knowledge and passion, especially with Italian wines
- ability to multitask in fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
- experience with POS systems and basic administrative functions including shift reports and guest notes
- flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- excellent verbal and written skills
- ability to train and coach others
- neat and clean appearance
- ability to work well in a team environment
- problem-solving abilities and ability to compute basic arithmetic
Job Duties
- Complete all opening, closing, and running side work
- attend all pre-shift meetings and lead pre-shift meetings with the team upon request
- deliver exceptional, intuitive service to guests in alignment with restaurant standards
- provide VIP guests with personalized service and attention to detail
- guide guests through the menu with confident knowledge of Italian cuisine, chef specialties, seasonal offerings, and wine pairings
- maintain expert-level knowledge of the restaurant’s award-winning wine list and assist with recommendations
- oversee daily floor operations and act as point of contact for front-of-house service matters during shifts
- support and mentor servers ensuring consistent service standards, pacing, and professionalism
- communicate effectively with kitchen and management teams to ensure seamless service flow
- uphold restaurant ambiance and cleanliness, ensuring all settings meet luxury brand expectations
- handle guest concerns or service recovery situations with grace and urgency
- assist with server training, onboarding, and continuing education on wine knowledge and upselling techniques
- follow safety and sanitation policies
- abide by all requirements pertaining to the sale of alcoholic beverages
- understand applicable emergency procedures and evacuations
- collect and report tips at end of assigned shift
- ensure checks are presented timely and payments are obtained, reporting difficulties to management
- settle-up with management each shift providing detailed POS report including cash due and approved vouchers for comps or house charges
- understand and follow all cash handling rules and regulations
- perform related duties as assigned
