Job Requirements
- Possess Class A or B CDL license required for operating commercial motor vehicles depending on location
- hold valid medical certificate or be able to obtain one upon employment
- ability to pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) screening as per company standards
- lawful age of at least 21 years
- readiness to comply with all applicable DOT and CDL regulations
- capability to obtain any sales-related licensure or registration if required
- ability to perform reading, writing, and basic arithmetic functions
- willingness to adhere to company policies and safety procedures
- ability to detect and report security risks
- physical ability to perform loading, unloading, and delivery tasks.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- valid Class A or B CDL license with air brake endorsement
- valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one
- ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic
- ability to comply with Department of Transportation and CDL regulations
- prior experience driving semi-truck or tractor-trailer preferred
- experience in retail customer service or in-home delivery preferred
- forklift or Moffett operation experience preferred
- excellent communication and customer service skills
- ability to work safely and maintain compliance with safety standards
- strong organizational skills
- ability to operate technology used in store and delivery tracking systems.
Job Duties
- Provide smart customer service through execution of Lowe’s customer service policies and procedures
- seek out customers to understand their needs and assist with locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, or loading merchandise
- listen and respond to customer and employee questions by guiding them through projects
- demonstrate sincere appreciation to customers
- communicate information regarding stock, special orders, benefits, applications, and warranties
- contact customers about delivery or coordinate communication with the truck driver
- plan delivery activities, print loading tickets, and deliver merchandise on schedule
- pull merchandise, build and band delivery loads, and load trucks within payload limits
- inspect product conditions before loading or assisting customers
- match items on invoices with loaded quantities
- ensure delivery loads are safe, secure, and comply with Department of Transportation regulations
- update delivery and route status electronically for tracking
- unload, install, and test appliances upon delivery
- perform daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs
- complete DOT reporting to maintain certification and compliance
- detect and report signs of shoplifting or theft
- maintain housekeeping standards to ensure store cleanliness and organization
- maintain a safe work environment including safety reviews and hazard reporting
- adhere to safety practices related to stocking and equipment use
- operate store and delivery equipment as required
- perform additional duties as assigned.
