Job Requirements
- Class A CDL license in locations with multi-unit CMV or Class B CDL license with air brake endorsement in locations with single-unit CMV
- valid medical certificate or ability to obtain upon employment
- ability to pass MVR screen per company requirements
- ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration if required by law
- ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic
- must be 21 years of age
- ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations
Job Qualifications
- One year experience driving semi-truck or trailer or certification from a driving school
- six months experience performing in-home delivery or retail customer service
- three months experience operating a forklift or Moffett onloading or offloading a vehicle
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- basic knowledge of safety and compliance standards
- ability to operate store equipment related to delivery and stocking
Job Duties
- Provides SMART customer service through execution of Lowe's customer service policies and programs
- seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
- listens to and responds to customer and employee questions, guiding them through projects when necessary
- demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers
- communicates information regarding stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information
- contacts customers regarding delivery or coordinates with truck drivers
- plans delivery activities, prints loading tickets, and delivers merchandise on schedule
- pulls merchandise, builds and bands delivery loads, and loads trucks within payload limits
- inspects condition of products before loading or assisting customer
- matches items on invoice with quantities loaded
- ensures loads are safe, secure, and within Department of Transportation regulations
- updates delivery and route status on the system for tracking
- unloads, installs, and tests appliances upon delivery
- verifies daily vehicle inspections and ensures cleanliness, maintenance, and repairs for delivery vehicles and equipment
- completes Department of Transportation reporting to maintain certification and compliance
- detects signs of theft or security risks and communicates them to management
- ensures compliance with housekeeping standards to maintain store cleanliness and organization
- maintains a safe and secure work environment including daily safety reviews and hazard noting
- adheres to all safety requirements relevant to job duties
- operates store equipment as needed depending on role and department
- performs other duties as assigned
