Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Capability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform tasks requiring close vision, color perception, and depth perception
- Good communication skills in English
- Must comply with company grooming and dress standards
- Ability to work in various temperature environments including hot and cold
- Willingness to follow health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Availability to work as scheduled and report absences or lateness in a timely manner
- Ability to handle and apply chemicals safely according to guidelines
- Completion of all required training
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence in English
- Ability to write simple correspondence in English
- Effective verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and work with money and weight measurements
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
- Willingness to complete required company training including food safety, sanitation, customer service, and product knowledge
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and support fellow associates
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments and priorities
- Strong customer service orientation
- Good judgment and decision-making abilities
Job Duties
- Take excellent care of customers by satisfying needs and exceeding expectations
- Prepare, process, package, and stock products according to Fresh Foods standards
- Provide exceptional customer service including answering questions and assisting with special requests
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, counters, food contact surfaces, and floors
- Unload stock and reload salvage products following standards
- Bake, fry, broil, or roast poultry, pork, beef, and other meats according to standards
- Operate necessary equipment to prepare and portion products accurately
- Communicate in English with customers and associates regarding product information and requests
- Stock and block products to maximize sales and minimize shrink
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation policies
- Assist with inventory, price changes, and merchandising displays
- Respond professionally to telephone inquiries
- Follow all safety regulations and report hazards
- Adapt to changing priorities and support fellow associates
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to company policy
- Perform other assigned duties related to Fresh Foods operations
