Job Requirements

  • Work independently and as part of a team to prepare and serve beverages
  • engage professionally with customers while handling transactions using a point of sale system
  • maintain cleanliness by sanitizing equipment and utensils at the beginning and end of each shift
  • be on your feet for extended periods, managing a physically demanding environment
  • handle various physical tasks such as reaching, bending, and lifting as required
  • thrive in a bustling and energetic atmosphere
  • follow any specific dress code, including wearing close-toed shoes and appropriate attire
  • comply with good manufacturing practices when handling food, including maintaining personal grooming standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior bartending or mixology experience preferred
  • excellent customer service and communication skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • knowledge of Tennessee alcohol laws and regulations
  • familiarity with point of sale systems
  • ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for guests
  • welcome and interact with customers, efficiently taking food and drink orders
  • assess customer preferences to provide tailored recommendations
  • craft cocktails according to the specifications unique to Nelson's
  • curate and display an enticing bar menu
  • verify customer identification in compliance with Tennessee's age requirements
  • restock supplies and maintain bar inventory before and after shifts
  • deliver an outstanding guest experience by staying attentive and responsive
  • adhere to all food and beverage regulations set forth by the State of Tennessee
