Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in baking artisan breads and pastries
- Ability to work early mornings weekends and holidays
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Commitment to quality service
- Positive attitude and great work ethic
- Willingness to undergo background check
- Eligibility to work legally in the United States
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a professional baker preferably in a fine dining or boutique hotel environment
- Strong knowledge of bread baking techniques and laminated dough production
- Understanding of fermentation dough handling and temperature control
- Ability to work early mornings and weekends as required
- Attention to detail organization and a commitment to excellence
- Culinary education preferred but not required with equivalent experience
- Completed a baker patisserie apprentice program and or baking and pastry arts management program
- Knowledge in a wide range of ingredients
- Knowledge of baking equipment and techniques
- Knowledge in precautionary measures for possible hazards WHMIS
- Must be patient detail-oriented creative and organized
- Able to work well independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs
Job Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of artisan breads including sourdoughs yeasted breads and specialty loaves
- Execute laminated doughs for pastries such as croissants pain au chocolat danish and seasonal viennoiserie
- Maintain consistency quality and presentation across all baked goods
- Follow established recipes while contributing creativity and seasonal ideas when appropriate
- Manage fermentation proofing and baking schedules with precision
- Maintain a clean organized and food-safe work environment
- Collaborate closely with the pastry and culinary teams to support restaurant and special event needs
