Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to perform physical tasks including stocking and lifting up to 45 pounds
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk frequently
- Ability to work full-time approximately 38 hours per week
- Ability to safely operate equipment like hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and balers
- Ability to provide and lead courteous customer service
- Ability to develop rapport and open communication with team
- Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others
- Ability to understand budgeting, personnel costs, and expenses
- Ability to comply with all company policies and confidentiality standards
- Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 3 years progressive retail experience
- Prior management experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lead and develop team members
- Knowledge of retail operations and cash register use
- Ability to operate store equipment safely
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
- Meets state and local alcohol handling requirements
Job Duties
- Assist direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results
- Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
- Identify training and development opportunities for direct reports
- Understand and model the company strategy and core values
- Monitor the competitive environment and inform direct leader of necessary adjustments
- Provide product feedback and recommend new or discontinued items
- Participate in interviewing store personnel
- Communicate weekly information, milestones, and concerns
- Ensure adherence to inventory, product handling, and cash control policies
- Resolve operational customer concerns in leader's absence
- Identify and rectify hazards and maintain store equipment
- Maintain store cleanliness and proper signage
- Assist with maintaining stock levels through product ordering
- Merchandise products neatly to maximize sales
- Ensure product quality, freshness, and signage accuracy
- Assist with achieving store payroll, loss budget, inventory counts, and training new employees
- Supervise daily team operations and escalate issues appropriately
- Ensure direct reports complete responsibilities timely and provide high customer service
- Comply with company policies and protect confidentiality
- Perform other duties as assigned
