Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education, social work, human services, counseling, psychology, or a related field
- Experience working with children of diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding child welfare in schools
- Understanding of social-emotional development in children, adolescents, and adults
- Solid interpersonal, organizational, and oral/written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, manage multiple priorities, and promote meaningful and healthy relationships between students, families/guardians, school staff, and community partners
Job Qualifications

- Master's degree in school counseling, social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field
- Knowledge of the effects of adverse childhood experiences and trauma on children, adolescents, and families
- Experience in child advocacy and parent/guardian outreach in public schools
- Case management experience assisting individuals/families to access a variety of community services
- Ability to navigate complex family and school situations that lead to better academic, social, and health outcomes for students and families
Job Duties
- Coordinate efforts with AASB, district counterparts, school teams, and partners to organize or offer incentivized professional learning and coaching
- Help convene and advance the agenda of the equity site council and collaborative leadership structures as they pertain to the site
- Communicate and monitor site-based action plans with AASB, school staff, school administrators, and community stakeholders
- Work closely with the school counselor or other staff to schedule and prepare for Strong Start and Bridging Inventories
- Serve as a case manager or lead for family and community outreach to carry out specific goals within the Full Service Community Schools Implementation Plan
- Host conversations with families
- Support school and community teams to access resources or opportunities for students and their families
- Participate in alignment and coordination meetings with other FSCS positions across the region
- Help organize documentation, tracking, and information systems
- Work closely with AASB and outside organizations to align services and long-term system development for behavioral health services and the needs of the students and their families
- Participate in a learning community across the region to share and learn about effective full service community schools program implementation
- Work with the evaluation team to address and communicate quality improvements and secure data for evaluation
- Contribute to reports of findings and stories with tribal entities, state education agencies, school board members, and other partners to support long-term sustainability
- Build strong relationships with families and partners
- Coordinate opportunities for families and their students
- Link families and students to health, transportation, and learning enrichment services
- Provide support for family partnership activities
- Flexibly perform other duties as needed by the Association of Alaska School Boards, school principal, district staff, or community partners that would improve the Full Service Community Schools model
