Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Three years of advanced cooking skills required
- Previous customer service required
- Must possess excellent communication skills including the ability to read, write and speak effectively
- Ability to deal effectively and interact well with customers and employees
- Ability to resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
- Must be able to stand, walk and move through all areas of the casino
- Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Work involves moderate exposure to hot and cold temperatures and/or loud noises
- Moderate physical activity is required with handling of objects up to fifty pounds
- Work environment involves some exposure to physical risk, requiring following basic safety precautions
Job Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Culinary education or experience preferred
- Three years of advanced cooking skills required
- Previous customer service experience required
- Must possess excellent communication skills including reading, writing, and speaking effectively
- Ability to deal effectively and interact well with customers and employees
- Ability to resolve problems and conflicts diplomatically and tactfully
Job Duties
- Insure food items are properly stored, including raw materials and prepared items
- Inspect all outgoing orders are properly prepared, i.e. portion control, garnished correctly for presentation
- Insure all items are available for consumption by guests, i.e. soups, sauces and gravies are available prior to restaurant opening, as well as assembling supplies and equipment needed for daily cooking
- Take inventory of all meats and seafood, requiring knowledge of food items and products that are needed as well as amounts needed
- Coordinate food orders to proper cooks
- Prepare all food items with strict adherence to food specifications set out in recipe manual
- Review production schedule to determine food requirements including variety and quantity of food preparation
- Complete production sheets and other records in conjunction with Sous Chefs as required
- Maintain clean work areas, utensils, and equipment
- Regulate temperatures of ovens, broilers and grills
- Maintain proper food temperatures in accordance with regulatory and/or ServSafe standards
- Properly label, date & rotate all products to ensure safe keeping and sanitation
- Command all stations of the kitchen including roast, fry, pasta, vegetable, grill, pantry, breakfast, saute and high volume quantity cooking
- Work with Sous and Room Chefs in conjunction with daily operations
- Teach and mentor cooks and production cooks
- Work in harmony with others under a strenuous environment
- Report to work well-groomed in full uniform and on time with badge on left side of uniform
- Provide prompt, friendly, and courteous service of food and beverage to all guests
- Be hospitable, friendly, and polite with guests, co-workers, and management using positive body language
- Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy
- Provide exceptional customer service in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner
- Maintain professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff
- Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to company policies
- Complete all required SGC training programs within nine months
- Attend all necessary meetings
- Duties, responsibilities, requirements, and expectations may change as needed
- Work hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule
