Job Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- prior housekeeping experience
- effective communication skills
- physical stamina and ability to lift required weights
- ability to follow safety rules and instructions
- interest in senior care
- ability to interact courteously with others
- willingness to perform assigned cleaning and maintenance tasks
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous housekeeping experience preferred
- ability to communicate effectively in the primary language of the residents
- ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- interest in working with a senior population
- courteous and friendly interaction with guests, residents, and staff
- physical ability to stand, walk, use hands and arms, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and occasionally sit
- capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- specific vision abilities including close and color vision
Job Duties
- Performs cleaning duties according to schedule in assigned areas such as apartment homes, common areas, lounges and offices
- sweeps, dusts, dust mops, and wet mops all floors and stairways
- spot cleans and vacuums floors, rugs, carpets and runners
- rotates runners in hallways and entryways
- cleans, sanitizes, and polishes lavatory, shower and sink fixtures and facilities
- stocks dispensers as necessary
- scrubs bath and shower room tiles, woodwork, window frames, and sills
- maintains equipment and materials needed to perform work in a clean and orderly condition
- collects trash and refuse from work areas and places in designated pick-up areas
- collects, cleans and redistributes community laundry
- maintains commercial laundry clean and sanitary
- ensures cleaning chemicals are stored and locked when not in use
- ensures cords, carts, equipment and hazards are not blocking exits and comply with fire codes
- reports needed repairs and supply and equipment needs to Lead Housekeeper
- performs other duties as assigned
