Job Requirements

  • Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position
  • ability to frequently lift and carry 30 lbs and occasionally lift and carry 50 lbs
  • ability to frequently push and pull up to 30 lbs and occasionally push and pull up to 50 lbs
  • bending, twisting, stooping
  • reaching at or below the shoulder
  • frequent standing or walking
  • ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • executing tasks independently
  • capable of dealing tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public
  • exposure to heat from kitchen equipment and cold from kitchen freezer
  • willingness to follow sanitary regulations at all times

Job Qualifications

  • Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position
  • food service and/or hospitality experience preferred
  • ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, residents, and families
  • capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility
  • ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions
  • knowledge of sanitary regulations and dining service procedures

Job Duties

  • Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
  • serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures
  • distribute and collect menus as necessary
  • take meal orders, serve food and beverages, and answer questions regarding the menu
  • follow sanitary regulations at all times
  • provide Platinum Service with each dining experience
  • set up meal trays, food carts and set up the dining room with utensils, salt and pepper, napkins, and clean common areas prior and after meals are served
  • assist in checking resident trays before distribution
  • pour hot and cold beverages for residents and assist residents with opening their containers and condiments as needed
  • prepare and deliver snacks to special events and parties hosted at the community
  • bus tables during and after the meals
  • provide support services to other dining rooms, during events and activities as needed
  • clean dining room area according to the cleaning schedules and assignments
  • perform other job-related duties as assigned
