Job Requirements
- Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position
- ability to frequently lift and carry 30 lbs and occasionally lift and carry 50 lbs
- ability to frequently push and pull up to 30 lbs and occasionally push and pull up to 50 lbs
- bending, twisting, stooping
- reaching at or below the shoulder
- frequent standing or walking
- ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- executing tasks independently
- capable of dealing tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public
- exposure to heat from kitchen equipment and cold from kitchen freezer
- willingness to follow sanitary regulations at all times
Job Qualifications
- Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position
- food service and/or hospitality experience preferred
- ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, residents, and families
- capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility
- ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions
- knowledge of sanitary regulations and dining service procedures
Job Duties
- Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
- serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures
- distribute and collect menus as necessary
- take meal orders, serve food and beverages, and answer questions regarding the menu
- follow sanitary regulations at all times
- provide Platinum Service with each dining experience
- set up meal trays, food carts and set up the dining room with utensils, salt and pepper, napkins, and clean common areas prior and after meals are served
- assist in checking resident trays before distribution
- pour hot and cold beverages for residents and assist residents with opening their containers and condiments as needed
- prepare and deliver snacks to special events and parties hosted at the community
- bus tables during and after the meals
- provide support services to other dining rooms, during events and activities as needed
- clean dining room area according to the cleaning schedules and assignments
- perform other job-related duties as assigned
