Job Requirements

  • Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position
  • Food service and/or hospitality experience preferred
  • Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions
  • Capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, residents, and families
  • Frequent lifting/carrying of 30 lbs and occasional lifting/carrying of 50 lbs
  • Frequent pushing/pulling up to 30 lbs and occasional pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk frequently
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop, and reach at or below the shoulder
  • Willingness to comply with sanitary regulations and safety standards
  • Ability to work without direct supervision

Job Duties

  • Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
  • Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures
  • Distribute and collect menus as necessary
  • Take meal orders, serve food and beverages, and answer questions regarding the menu
  • Follow sanitary regulations at all times
  • Provide Platinum Service with each dining experience
  • Set up meal trays, food carts and set up the dining room with utensils, salt and pepper, napkins, and clean common areas prior and after meals are served
  • Assist in checking resident trays before distribution
  • Pour hot and cold beverages for residents
  • Assist residents with opening their containers and condiments as needed
  • Pay special attention to resident and guest needs while they are enjoying their dining experience
  • Prepare and deliver snacks to special events and parties hosted at the community
  • Bus tables during and after the meals
  • Provide support services to other dining rooms, during events and activities as needed
  • Clean dining room area according to the cleaning schedules and assignments
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
