Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Met or exceeded expectations on most recent performance evaluation
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledgeable and comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, holidays, and weekends
  • Capable of frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and climbing
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Willingness to work in a retail store environment exposed to cool and freezing temperatures

Job Duties

  • Supervise and train employees and member workers in food and kitchen safety, knife safety, allergens, SMS, and any other necessary training
  • Monitor and taste food preparation to ensure recipe adherence and quality standards
  • Cover open shifts as needed
  • Monitor and manage production schedule, communicating changes to managers and staff
  • Act as Kitchen Manager when required, overseeing the entire Food Service Department
  • Collaborate with cooks to create seasonal recipes and menus
  • Develop and organize recipes
  • Participate actively in the daily preparation of soups, salads, dips, and entrée items
  • Ensure staff follow proper food rotation, dating, and storage procedures
  • Monitor food flow to minimize waste and plan for leftovers
  • Assist in preparation, delegation, and fulfillment of catering orders
  • Maintain and ensure kitchen staff maintain required temperature and cooking logs
  • Coordinate with Food Service Manager to hold tri-annual staff meetings and daily communications
  • Train and coach kitchen staff as directed by Food Service Manager
  • Complete employee evaluations and participate in hiring processes under manager direction
  • Cost items to meet margin budgets and minimize shrink by coaching staff
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers and addressing inquiries or complaints
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal food safety and regulatory standards
  • Organize and maintain a sanitary and orderly kitchen and equipment
  • Participate in monthly inventories
  • Advise Food Service Manager of equipment needs and perform minor repairs
