Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food service or cooking
  • ability to work flexible schedules including evenings and weekends
  • capability to follow recipes and maintain quality standards
  • knowledge of proper food handling and safety protocols
  • good interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
  • physical ability to perform cooking and cleaning tasks
  • willingness to work extended hours when necessary

Job Duties

  • Develop and prepare soups, salads and entrees according to specifications
  • follow seasonal, local and organic healthy ingredients and meals
  • cater to diverse dietary preferences including vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and meat options
  • creatively use ingredients to enhance menu
  • manage food costs and minimize waste
  • read and follow departmental production sheets
  • follow recipes and meet quality standards
  • adhere to proper food rotation, dating and storage procedures
  • provide exemplary customer service including greeting and attending to guests
  • maintain grab and go case, hot entrée table and coffee service area
  • uphold a positive attitude and teamwork
  • restock key products timely
  • know the menu and recipe details
  • communicate production schedule adjustments to supervisor
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation of stove and oven
  • advise supervisor on ordering, equipment and staffing needs
  • attend departmental meetings
  • perform other duties as assigned
