Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One or more years of experience in cooking and food preparation or related culinary training
  • Ability to stand and work for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Availability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, Sundays, and Mondays
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation protocols
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and take initiative
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle a fast paced, deadline driven environment

Job Qualifications

  • One or more years of experience in cooking and food preparation or equivalent culinary education and experience
  • Well organized with strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of cooking techniques, safe use of knives and slicers, sanitation methods, and food temperature safety
  • Familiarity with professional kitchen equipment such as stoves and ovens
  • Passion for cooking and customer service
  • Ability to remain calm and organized under pressure
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self motivated
  • Ability to stand for entire shifts and tolerate environmental exposures
  • Ability to work safely in crowded environments
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to follow oral instructions in noisy environments
  • Familiarity with basic office software including word processing and spreadsheets
  • Basic arithmetic skills
  • Willingness to learn and collaborate

Job Duties

  • Develop and prepare soups, salads, and entrees focusing on seasonal, local, and organic ingredients
  • Cater to diverse dietary preferences including vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, and meat options
  • Follow recipes and departmental production sheets to meet quality and time standards
  • Provide exemplary customer service by greeting customers and maintaining an attractive food display
  • Supervise member workers in food preparation
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment
  • Communicate production or equipment needs and attend departmental meetings
