Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
- Food handlers' permit
- No experience necessary
- Must be able to successfully pass background and drug tests

Job Qualifications
- Must have knowledge of elementary math such as counting trays
- Follow oral and written instructions
- Efficient use of time with ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to use tools and equipment required
- Maintain confidentiality of resident care information
- Interact effectively with residents, guests, supervisors, and peers
- Work cooperatively with dietary aides and supervisors
- Cope with mental and emotional stress related to working with ill, disabled, elderly, or emotionally upset persons
- Follow safety regulations including reporting injuries or unsafe conditions
- Follow acceptable standards of personal hygiene and comply with dress code
- Possess fundamental understanding of sanitation and cleanliness
- Regular, punctual, and dependable attendance
- Provide assistance and work directly with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public
Job Duties
- Operate the dishwashing machine to ensure proper cleaning of all dishes, flatware, glasses, utensils, and food preparation equipment
- Use a three-bowl sink to clean pots and pans as necessary
- Keep work tables and sinks clean
- Empty the waste paper and garbage cans after each meal
- Clean garbage cans
- Store clean dishes in the proper area
- Assist with tray assembly when necessary
- Sweep and scrub kitchen floor area
- Comply with established sanitation, personal hygiene, and health standards
- Report necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor
- Keep work area neat and clean at all times
- Greet residents with warmth and respect using correct names
- Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned
- Perform tasks supportive to essential job functions which may be modified depending on individual circumstances
