Job Requirements
- Capable of performing essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations
- Ability to understand and communicate written and verbal directions
- Regular attendance, reliability, and punctuality
- Ability to work nights and weekends upon request
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
- May be responsible to work on an on-call basis
Job Qualifications
- Minimum one year of food preparation experience in a related field
- Culinary background preferred
- Proficient in English, both verbal and written
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Active Serve Safe Certification or Food Handlers Certificate preferred
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Well organized with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with effective time management skills
Job Duties
- Prepare meals that follow the menus and recipes
- Inspect special diet trays to assure correct diet is served
- Serve food in accordance with portion control procedures
- Prepare food for therapeutic diets and special diet orders
- Prepare cold food, bakery, and salad items
- Cook hot foods as directed by supervisors
- Adhere to food service timelines
- Prepare and serve substitute foods for residents refusing daily menu options
- Serve meals to residents and guests as needed
- Assist in food preparation for special meals, parties, and events
- Ensure food is prepared according to sanitary and Food Serve Safe regulations
- Maintain clean and safe work areas
- Assist with food prep for upcoming meals
- Assist with inventory and replenishment of food and supplies
- Meet federal and state in-service requirements
