Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- at least two years of relevant food service experience preferred
- food safety certification (SERV Safe) where required
- ability to work 10am to 8pm shifts including every other weekend
- capacity to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
- ability to lift and carry food supplies and equipment
- good communication and supervisory skills
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- two or more years experience in food service in institutional settings such as schools, hospitals, or cafeterias preferred
- SERV Safe certification or similar food safety certification where required
- knowledge of culinary and cooking techniques for special dietary needs
- ability to follow recipes and menus precisely
- experience in food safety and sanitation practices
Job Duties
- Plans and prepares foods according to facility policies and dietary guidelines
- plans cooking schedule to ensure timely meal readiness
- follows recipes and portioning procedures for menu items
- safely stores and prepares food including temperature control and labeling
- sets up and maintains steam tables with attractive presentation and portioning
- prepares and labels leftover food for proper storage
- directs activities of staff assisting with meal preparation and serving
