Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in food preparation or culinary services
  • knowledge of food sanitation and safety
  • ability to work in high temperature and humidity environments
  • physical ability to lift, bend, stoop, and carry food and equipment
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work a full-time set schedule with weekend rotation

Job Qualifications

  • coursework or training in food preparation or kitchen operations
  • experience in food service industry or related field
  • knowledge of kitchen and dining room safety practices
  • understanding of special diets and food handling procedures
  • ability to communicate effectively with staff and residents
  • ability to train and supervise others

Job Duties

  • prepare and serve healthy and delicious meals
  • oversee food preparation and kitchen sanitation
  • assign and monitor work of food service assistants
  • train and supervise food service staff
  • ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • alter menus to accommodate special diets and food availability
  • maintain kitchen equipment and utensils cleanliness
