Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a bakery or food preparation setting preferred
- Ability to lift and maneuver objects up to 60 lbs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive physical tasks
- Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Good attendance and punctuality
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and labeling requirements
- Ability to use basic computer and ordering systems
- Compliance with company grooming standards and policies
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous bakery or food preparation experience desirable
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to operate bakery equipment safely
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to perform basic math including weights and measures
- Ability to use computer software and electronic ordering devices
- Good manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain department standards
- Familiarity with inventory control and product rotation
- Ability to work varied schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on providing fast and friendly customer service
- Assists customers by making product suggestions, filling special orders and food preparation suggestions
- Answers and responds to incoming calls appropriately, receives and resolves customer complaints
- Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in-store intercom and one-on-one customer interaction
- Implements proper and efficient product preparation and packaging techniques
- Plans production and follows production sheet
- Thaws, proofs and bakes bakery products including rolls, bread, cookies, pastries and donuts
- Measures and mixes ingredients, forms dough and batter
- Bakes and monitors product in oven, adjusts oven temperature
- Maintains bakery case cleanliness, visual appeal, and inventory levels
- Ensures proper sanitation, safety, and compliance with labeling laws and company policies
- Controls inventory to ensure adequate quantity, quality and freshness
- Stocks and rotates products and maintains cooler organization
- Understands and follows department opening and closing procedures
- Builds displays and enforces product code dating compliance
- Performs receiving duties such as breaking down loads, verifying orders, inspecting quality and stocking
- Completes, maintains and monitors daily production logs and records
- Controls shrink and cost
- Complies with workplace safety rules and ensures cleanliness of work areas and equipment
- Performs duties safely and with integrity
- Executes other necessary and required tasks as assigned
