Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • No directly related experience required
  • Ability to follow sanitation and safety protocols
  • Flexibility to work 20 hours per week primarily evening shifts
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to perform physical tasks related to food service and cleaning
  • Willingness to adhere to Cincinnati Children’s safety and operational standards

Job Duties

  • Set up, work, and clean respective positions of the patient tray line, dish machine, pots and pans, and cafeteria
  • Deliver patient trays as needed
  • Practice safe and sanitary habits according to established standards
  • Maintain a clean environment for patients, visitors, and employees
  • Ensure proper food handling, temperature readings, and sanitation procedures are followed
  • Retrieve dirty trays, clean dishes, empty trash, and take trash carts to the dumpster
  • Complete required HACCP logs and maintain food temperatures
  • Demonstrate effective customer service to employees, customers, managers, and visitors
  • Follow CARES standards and maintain safety program within the department
  • Report safety concerns appropriately
  • Perform other duties as assigned
