Job Requirements
- Food handlers card
- Ability to regularly push or pull up to 75lbs
- Ability to frequently squat, kneel, reach, bend and twist
- Ability to constantly stand and walk
- Ability to communicate using in-person speech, radios and telephone
- Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds in person
- Ability to distinguish between shades of color
- Ability to use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity
- Ability to sit and work at a desk or computer occasionally
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads at various levels
- Prior experience in a related kitchen role
- Compliance with health and safety standards
Job Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Prep Cook at a hotel restaurant or institutional kitchen preferred
- Ability to expand and condense recipes
- Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations
- Working knowledge of American Standard Weights and Measures
- Proven experience providing high level of guest service
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
- Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
- Verify right to work in the United States
Job Duties
- Transport supplies from storeroom and stock in designated areas
- Meet with Chef to review assignments and anticipated business levels
- Inspect cleanliness and working condition of tools and equipment
- Prepare all meals following recipes and yield guides according to standards
- Inform Sous Chef of any shortages before items run out
- Monitor quality and quantity of mis en place and correct accordingly
- Maintain proper storage procedures specified by Health Department and hotel requirements
- Disinfect and sanitize cutting boards and worktables
- Transport empty, dirty pots and pans to designated area
- Breakdown work station and complete closing duties according to department standards
- Review work status and follow-up actions with Sous Chef before leaving
- Ensure compliance with gaming laws, company policies, Title 31, and federal regulations if applicable
- Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner
- Perform other duties as assigned
